June 17, 2024: We arrived safely in South Dakota on Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed incredible Methodist hospitality in Nevada, Iowa where we enjoyed a homemade “Iowa” feast on Saturday evening. We’ve had many God sightings along the way. Our students have positive attitudes and are eager to start our workday Monday at the Rosebud Reservation.

June 20: It’s been a very rewarding and productive week in South Dakota. Some of our projects have included building a kitchen island, laying flooring in a home, organizing a tool shed, opening a soup kitchen and providing several meals to the community, and fixing three toilets and a commercial dish washer. We have been very busy.

Some of our favorite moments have been spending time with the Lakota Nation teenagers and hearing Chief Hollow Horn Bear share his life story. Thank you St. Paul’s for giving us this amazing opportunity.
